(IsraelNN.com) A large Iranian delegation headed by former president Hashemi Rafsanjani will travel to Saudi Arabia Monday in an attempt to reconcile the countries' differences following recent tension in Lebanon, and to search for a mediation formula that would enable Hamas and Fatah to cooperate.
London-based newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi reported Sunday that Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki recently suggested that the same formula that enabled reconciliation between the feuding camps in Lebanon be used to quell tension between the "Palestinian" factions.
An agreement between Hamas and Fatah would involve returning Gaza to Fatah control, the newspaper reported.
