I am just starting to really get back into reading current events in the ME..took a hiatus for a while due to my new burrito...

I was curious what you all thought about the olmert resignation and the propsect of bibi getting elected. It occured to me that Olmert's resignation MAY speed up prophetic activity over there because I would imagine that Israel's enemies would want to deal with Olmert as opposed to Netanyahu, so they might start something while he is still in office.

Hi Set apart

Its good to have you around again.

I posted a few days ago that Olmerts resignation could just be a ploy and he still might end up in power for quite a few months yet.

"Closer analysis of what some reports said amounted to a resignation, however, suggested that Olmert may have perpetrated a clever ruse aimed at keeping himself in office for at least another nine months."

"While Olmert did promise to step down following the Kadima primary, that move was conditioned on the winner of the internal election successfully forming a new majority government. It is widely believed that both of the Kadima leadership frontrunners, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, will have great difficulty accomplishing that task.

Should the winner of the primary fail to form a new majority government, Olmert will by default remain prime minister of the current government until new national elections can be held, probably in March or April of next year. Olmert made no commitment to refrain from running in that election, if it takes place. "

True - Bibi would not be a popular choice even with the quartet never mind their enemies - so I believe that they will want things done quickly.

I also posted a few days ago that Olmert thought that there could be announcement around the 2 Sept. From what I remember it had to be before the UN had their big meeting in September.

Yeah...it is interesting to watch politics unfold. As we have seen with Putin in Russia, it isn't always what it appears..at least as far as resignations or term expirations go!

I have always thought that Natanyahu is very significant to Israel.

He has made a lot of friends with extremely influential Christian leaders in the US. I mean the kind of Christian leaders that have a very wide ranging and huge congregations.

He has a lot of support and I think that Natenyahu did it on purpose, this way he has bypassed Washington and built him a base that has more influence than most could ever imagine.

The news likes to fantasize that conservative Christians influence is waning, but I think that things are going on behind the scenes that most Americans do no see or understand when it comes to inluence.

I do not mean this in a bad way. I am just always aware of what Natenyahu is up to and who he is hanging out with. IF you watch Joel Rosenberg's DVD Epicenter he is very involved in that and maybe playing on Christians knowledge of End Times and the role of Israel. He sees how conservative Christians can help him.

He is making a name for himself again.

Course, this is all just my humble opinion.

I think that is a good observation...it is amazing how God has people aligned for the end days. It is frustrating often to see people in positions where we know they are making huge mistakes, but then you stop and consider God's will, and it makes sense from that perspective. Nothing is a coincidence and it is all a part of the Master's plan..

I have been fascinated with Natenyahu since I first heard him talk and saw just who he was hanging out with.

I think Olmert is on his way out. Israel is looking for a real leader and things are lining up and you are right Setapart, nothing is a surprise to God, He knows the end from the beginning.

One of Netanyahu's best buddies in the US is John Haggee. I think that he has been a huge influence on his writings, in turn getting the attention and information out there that he wants and Haggee is very proud of that friendship.

I think Haggee enjoys the attention of being associated with such a well known and popular Israeli star-on-the-rise kinda guy like Netanyahu.

This is of course all just my opinion. But he sure is a popular guy again lately. Especially with subjects like the End Times.
